Glenn N. Schimmel

Glenn N. Schimmel, age 84, of Toledo, OH passed away Thursday January 3, 2013. He was born on June 23, 1928 to Joseph and Therese Schimmel in Toledo. Glenn was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and the University of Toledo. He was a life member of UTs Alumni Association. He married the love of his life, Joanne Polcyn on May 31, 1954 and together they raised three children. Glenn worked 46 years in the area as a local stockbroker which combined his love of people and numbers. He was a volunteer for Hospice of Northwest Ohio and a member of SST Friends of Bill and Bob for 42 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne on July 5, 2006 and his parents. He is survived by his children, Nicholas Kay Schimmel of Conyers, GA, Julie Ledzianowski of Oregon and Karen Schimmel of Toledo; grandchildren, Nicole Thomas Schimmel, Andrew, Lauren, Samantha Ledzianowski, Keenan Kobe Jones; his big little brother, Daniel Joan Norman of Oregon, OH and his loving friend Beulah Horn. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Tuesday Jan. 8, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 5153 N. Summit St. followed by a memorial Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM. Inurnment will be at the Cloisters at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in St. Augustine, FL alongside his beloved wife, Joanne. Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Capital Improvement Fund and Helping Hands of St. Louis.
