Glenn Amil Roepke, age 92, of Perrysburg, died February 25, 2024, at Kingston Rehabilitation in Perrysburg following a brief illness. He was born June 14, 1931, in Toledo to the late John and Mary (Adams) Roepke.
Glenn graduated from Macomber High School in 1949 and served in the United States Navy aboard an aircraft carrier during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he worked as a mechanic for several years before a long career with Libbey Owens Ford in Rossford, from where he retired.
In his free time, Glenn enjoyed camping, dancing, riding his motorcycle, and flying. He had his private pilot’s license and loved to make short treks around the city in his Cessna. He also built small, two-seat airplanes he would fly, as well as model planes that he flew by remote control. Glenn also liked to listen to old time country music and loved a good Polka. He was a good guy who will be remembered for his love of life and propensity to stay active and busy.
Glenn is survived by his daughters, Mary Bartlebaugh and Gloria Roepke; grandchildren, Renee, Tracey, and Tina; four great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy, Marjorie, Beatrice, and Cornell, who helped raise Glenn after the death of his mother; and a twin brother, who died at birth.
Graveside services with military honors provided by the United States Navy will be held privately.
