Gladys M. Jensen

Gladys M. Jensen, 79, of Oak Harbor, died Tuesday morning, July 24, 2007, in Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor. Gladys was born September 9, 1927, in Oak Harbor to Ruban John and Magdalene Beier Hehl. On February 27, 1954, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor she married Raymond F. Jensen and he preceded her in death March 13, 1975.Gladys was a homemaker and had worked on the assembly line for 11 years at Philco in Sandusky. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor, where she was a former member of the Altar Guild. Gladys was a charter member of the VFW Post #8732 Ladies Auxiliary and also served as secretary. In her earlier years, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and gardening.Her survivors include her children, Larry Jensen of Oak Harbor, Linda Chuck Stewart of Woodville, and Dan Cindy Jensen of Oak Harbor, four grandchildren, Rachel, Michael, Brandon, and Kaylee, and sister, Esther Clarence Baumert of Oak Harbor. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Charles and Lyle Hehl, and sisters, Juanita and Beatrice Hehl.Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, with the Oak Harbor VFW Post #8732 Ladies Auxiliary service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2007, in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor, with interment to follow in Union Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the church or the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
