Gladys Irene Aunt Dodo Hune

Gladys Irene Hune age 92 of Maumee passed away Wednesday April 23, 2008 in St. Lukes Hospital. She was born July 2, 1915 in Belmore, Ohio the daughter of Mathias and Luetta Vogelpohl. She was a graduate of the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing and was employed at Toledo Hospital. A Navy veteran of World War II, she was a Lieutenant in Nurses Corp. Gladys was also an industrial nurse at the former Plaskon which was Allied Chemical. A member of Maumee United Methodist Church she was a volunteer at Toledo Hospital and Mobile Meals. An avid outdoors person she loved to walk and work in her yard. Most of all she was known as a special aunt who loved and cared for her family. The widow of Delbert Hune she was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Nolan Vogelpohl and sisters Winifred Leydorf and Ednagail Aerni. Surviving is a brother-in-law Floyd Aerni; niece Linda Michael Cromly; nephews Ken Carol Aerni; Ron Janet Vogelpohl, Chris Janet Leydorf and Steve Mindy Leydorf; and great nieces and nephews Matthew, Kristin, Jonathan, Brian, Allison, Brett, Beth Ann, Ross, Daniel, Mina and Jennifer. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, Maumee on Saturday from 9-11 AM where graveside services will follow at Toledo Memorial Park at 11:30 AM with Pastor Scot Ocke officiating.
