Gladys Virignia Glenn

Gladys V. Glenn, age 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017. Gladys was born June 9, 1924 in Mockville, NC to Ollie and Wiley Smith. Gladys and her husband, Herbert, moved to Toledo in 1946. She worked at the Toledo Blade, Owens-Illinois, and Dale Funeral Home before establishing the Glenn Adult Foster Care Center which she owned and operated until retirement. She then moved to New Albany Garden and Care Center in Gahanna, Ohio. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Glenn; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters. She is survived by her sons, Herbert (Darlene) Glenn of Toledo, OH and Gary (Laura) Glenn of Blacklick, OH; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral Service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Warren AME Church, 915 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH 43602. Rev. Ottis J. Gordon, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Tributes in Gladys memory may be sent to the church or a charity of the donors choice.
