Gladys D. Birch

Gladys D. Birch, age 90, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Orchard Villa. Gladys was born on August 5, 1925 to Marion and Jennie (Grimes) Kimmel in Franklin Township, Iowa. She married George E. Birch on April 30, 1943. Gladys was a homemaker and loved tending to her garden of flowers, loved crossword puzzles, country music and the Toledo Mud Hens. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George, her parents, five siblings, and one grandchild. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda (James) Norton of Erie, Kansas; Lisa Hybarger of Toledo; and George “Gene” Birch of Perrysburg. Also surviving are seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren (soon to be three); many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many other loving family members and friends. Visitation will take place at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 North Main St. Walbridge, Ohio 43465 (419-666-3121) on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM. in the funeral home. Burial will take place in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
