Gioacchino Evola

Jan 4, 1948 — Sep 16, 2026

Gioacchino (Jack) Evola, age 78, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Cinisi Sicily, Italy, to Giovanni and Rosalia (Curcuru) Evola, Jack moved to Canada at a young age before eventually making his way to the United States where he became a proud U.S. citizen in 1997 and built a beautiful life for his family. Jack was a talented carpenter who took great pride in his work. He obtained his builder's license and continued his career until retirement. He was a hardworking man who believed in providing and caring for the people he loved.

While Jack built many things with his hands and was an accomplished cook and gardener, his greatest accomplishment was the family that he built. He was a devoted husband, a loving dad, and a cherished Papa. He will be remembered for his love of family, his Italian heritage, and the deep love he always carried for Italy, the place where his story began.

Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Jane, and his daughters Lea (Chris) Schuette and Trish Kreuz, and grandson, Luke Kreuz. He is also survived by brothers Joe (Beatrice), Ben (Sheila), sisters Josie (Dino) Muzzatti and Sandi (Jim) Pittam, sisters-in-law Christine and Mandy Evola, extended family, friends, and his faithful dog, Lincoln, who brought him so much companionship and joy. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Sam and Russ. His family is grateful for the years, memories, laughter, and love he gave them. His legacy will live on through the family he loved so deeply.

Services will be at Faith Baptist Church, 6245 Whiteford Center Rd., Lambertville, MI, on Tuesday, September 22 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 preceding the service. A luncheon will be served at the church after the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Faith Baptist Church. Condolences may be made online to the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com.
