Gilda G. Covucci

October 19, 1932 — April 11, 2018

Gilda Covucci, 85, of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at The Toledo Hospital. Gilda was born to Joseph and Grace Zann in Brooklyn, New York and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from New York University in 1954. She worked for 23 years as Human Resources Manager at Marathon Specialty Products, retiring in 2005. She was much loved and respected at that organization. Gilda loved giving of herself through volunteering. She was active at The United Way and at Central Park West. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank Covucci, Jr.; sons, Frank Covucci III (Amy) and Greg Covucci; daughter, Debbie Royer (Mark); and four grandchildren, Ryan Royer, Ethan Royer, Grace Royer, and Frank Covucci IV. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Dr. Gregory Zann. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 15, from 2-6 PM at The Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. The funeral will begin with prayers at the funeral home on Monday, April 16 at 10:30AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11AM at Gesu Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd. Memorial contributions may be made in Gilda’s name to The United Way of Toledo, the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
