Gertrude C. Weter

Gertrude C. Weter age 94 of Toledo passed away on Saturday August 7, 2010 at the Sunset House in Toledo. Gertrude was born in Toledo, OH on July 26, 1916 to Frederick and Gertrude Staab Wegener. Gertrude attended St. Marys grade school, graduated from Woodward High School and graduated from Stautzenberger College. Gertrude was a secretary for Owens Illinois for 37 years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Libbey Glass Onized Club and the O-I Golden Emblem Club for retirees. She enjoyed golfing, sewing and traveling with her husband. Surviving are her sisters, Anna M. Mueller, Alma M. Beck, Elizabeth A. Wegener; brother, Frederick C. Wegener and numerous nieces and nephews. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, William Loren Weter; her parents; and sister, Ruth A. Schaal. Friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home 501 Conant St. Maumee, on Tuesday from 4-8 pm with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, corner of Sherwood and Anthony Wayne Trail, Toledo.
