Gertrude V. Tilson, 87, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away early Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. She was born on January 8, 1922 in Greenville, TN to Charles and Maggie Emmert White. Gertrude was employed at the Ramada Inn of Fremont, OH for 11 years and the Erie Army Depot of Port Clinton for 10 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, where she was involved in the womens club of the church. Gertrude is survived by her sons, Charles C. Shelia White of Port Clinton, Donald E. Jan Tilson of Tucson, AZ, and Paul Tilson of Port Clinton; daughters, Iva Marvin Sandwisch of Port Clinton, Jacklyn Roger Smith of Celina, OH; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Iva Mowl and infant son, James Tilson; brother in law Harry Mowl; great great-grandson, James Blitz Kreager. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM, Monday, March 16, 2009 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 AM , Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in the funeral home. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given in Gertrudes memory to Trinity United Methodist Church, Port Clinton, Stein Hospice of Sandusky, OH or to Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, OH.
