Gertrude M. Henningsen, 99, of Genoa, Ohio and formerly of Curtice, Ohio, died January 31, 2021 in the Genoa Retirement Village, Genoa. Gertrude was born on February 27, 1921, in Williston, Ohio, the daughter of Henry E. and Christina M. (Jensen) Krukemyer. Gertrude was a 1938 graduate of the Clay-Genoa High School. She married Ervin G. Petersen on April 3, 1941 until his death on February 2, 1973. On August 14, 1982 she married Merryl O. Havener until his passing on August 5, 1984. Gertrude married Lester M. Henningsen on October 11, 1986 and he preceded her in death on August 26, 1988. Gertrude was a bookkeeper for many years at Dunn Chevrolet when they were located in Curtice, Ohio and later for the former Anchor Point Marina, also in Curtice. She had also worked for the former Collins & Parker Pharmacy in Oregon, Ohio, was a volunteer at St. Charles Hospital and a member of St. Charles-Mercy Volunteer Group. Gertrude was a life member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston where she was a member of the Esther Circle. Survivors of Gertrude include her nephew, Henry R. (Carrol) Krukemyer, niece, Carolyn M. Grimme along with extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and brother, Henry J. Krukemyer. Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will be held for Gertrude at the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
