Gertrude F. Crandall

Gertrude F. Crandall, 89, of Maumee, formerly, Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Ridgewood Manor on April 28, 2016. She was born on March 16, 1927 in Toledo to Albert and Helen (Idzkowski) Michalak and she married Richard F. “Dick” Crandall on February 17, 1945 at St. Michael’s Church in Toledo. Gertrude was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maumee. She spent several years employed in sales for Eureka Vacuums. Gertrude enjoyed traveling and camping as well as gambling and square dancing. She also loved to work on crafts and create ceramic artwork. She is survived by her loving children, Daniel A. (Kathie) Crandall, Richard L. (Karen) Crandall, Dale L. (Ann) Crandall, Denise L. (Jim) Knisley, David W. (Brenda) Crandall and Dean A. (Kelly) Crandall; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and siblings, Carol Perus, Joe Michalak and Albert Michalak. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Helen, husband, Richard, grandson, Richard D. “Richie” Crandall and sisters, Dorothy Anson and Kay Jazwiecki. Friends will be received on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) where a scripture service will begin at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 104 W. Broadway St, Maumee, Ohio 43537. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
