Jerry Billmaier, 82, left us to join others on June 17, 2008 at Heartland of Perrysburg. He was born in Maumee, OH on November 2, 1925 to Alphonse and Lilly Billmaier. Jerry married Mary Ann Miller on December 17, 1949. Mary Ann passed away in 1963. In 1982 Jerry married Audrey Davies and they have been married for 25 years. During World War II Jerry was unable to join the Armed Forces but did his part by delivering the mail here at home. He worked at Maumee Chemical for many years until an explosion, which killed ten of his co-workers, ended his time there. Jerry was employed by The Andersons for 24 years retiring in 1986. While at The Andersons he helped cut steel for the Sandpiper which is still in operation on the Maumee River. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul, daughter Martha Richard Mullins, and grandson James Jan Wagener. Surviving are his wife Audrey, son Michael Linda of Eagle River, AK, daughters Mary James Wagener, Suzanne Tom Morgan, step-sons Dennis Davies, Donald Janet Davies, step-daughters Darley and Doreen Davies of Palm City, FL and Deborah Rob Gatewood Davies of Sandwich, MA, sisters Madonna Bihn, CA, Dolores Soper, FL, brothers Melvin, Clarence, CA and Leonard. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Many thanks to his caregivers at Heartland of Perrysburg and Hospice of Northwest Ohio. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Mason Dardenne-Walker in Maumee. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, St. Josephs Church in Maumee or charity of choice.
