Geraldine Robinson

Geraldine Robinson age 86 of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, January 26, 2017. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on Valentine’s Day in 1930 to Ruben L. Ashenfelter and Vera L. Norton. Her beloved husband of 56 years Noble Robinson preceded her in death on November 20th, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her step sister Joyce L. Bronkowski and Sister Ruth Jean Kayser. She is survived by her son James Robinson, brother Neil Ashenfelter, step sister Diane Linver, and many nieces and nephews. Geraldine was a loving mother and wife whose career lasted (20) years at the Toledo Board of Education until retirement in 1986. Geraldine was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy. Her love for Notre Dame and its sisters was “one of a lifetime” as were the friends she made and kept at Notre Dame until her death. She was the President and Valedictorian of the Notre Dame Class of (1945 1946) and considered this time the fondest memories of her childhood. Her favorite event was walking the Metro Parks of Ohio while bird watching. It was an event that spanned for over (50) years and Wildwood Park in Toledo was her favorite. She would often invite friends and family for walks then enjoy a social luncheon thereafter. Geraldine had many close friends at the St. James Club in Toledo and “The Elizabeth Circle Group” a (women’s poetry group). She enjoyed going to social events on her calendar as well as her love for the Toledo Repertoire Theatre. She will always be remembered by her infectious smile, warm heart, kind generosity, love of nature and a sense for loving people. Geraldine donated her body to the University of Toledo’s College of Medicine’s Anatomical Donation Program for purposes of Alzheimer’s research and education. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial service at 11:00 AM at Wildwood Metro Park’s Manor House in Toledo, Ohio (5100 W. Central Avenue, Toledo, Ohio - 419-407-9700) on Monday January 30, 2017. A memorial luncheon will follow the memorial service. Arrangements were handled through the Walker Funeral Home 419-841-2422. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to extend an expression of memory and sympathy are asked to consider donations to the Alzheimer’s Association located at (2500 N. Reynolds Rd, Toledo Ohio 43615) where Geraldine spent many a great days enjoying the activities of the center.
