Geraldine Howell

Geraldine Jerry Howell, age 77, passed away Wednesday March 5, 2008 in Florida. Jerry was born Dec. 28, 1930 to L.T. and Wilma Mock Cottingham. She married Gene Howell June 2, 1949 and they had two sons. Jerry was very proud of her sons and was very active in their lives. She was Choir-Mother for the church Choir, Cub Scout Den mother and President of the Demolay Mothers Club. Jerry worked for the Department of Human Services for 23 years, retiring in 1997 as a Supervisor. She was member of Collingwood Chapter OES for many years. She joined Dendarah Ct. #10, Ladies Oriental Shrine in 1960. She traveled with the Marching Patrol for 16 years. She held the office of High Priestess in 1973-1974 and was an advisor to the Jerry Howell Class of 1974. She was active until 1998 when her health failed. Jerry belonged to the Royal Order of the Jesterettes and served as Impresario for 13 years. Jerry was preceded in death by her father, mother, step father, William Hipkiss, sister, Cora Hipkiss, and brothers, Robert and William Cottingham, and great grandson, Ethan Michael Dickson. She is survived by sons, Michael of Tampa, FL, Jeffery Chris Howell of Sylvania; grandchildren, Amber Jason Dickson Howell, Heather Gary Lubinski, and Adam Howell; and 1 great grandchild. Thanks to Christine Howell and Janet Lynn Smith for all their love and care over the years. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 3-5PM & 6-9PM at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd with Dendarah Ct. #10, Ladies Oriental Shrine service at 7:30 PM. Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
