Geraldine Marie Daiber died at her home in Perrysburg, Ohio, Tuesday, January 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Geraldine was born April 10, 1934. She was married to Joseph R. Daiber, who died April 10, 1979. Their son, Joseph P. Daiber, died in 2004. Geraldine is survived by her children, Lisa (Dana Zintek), Robert (Gina), Sara (Nizar Salhi), David (Ruth Milligan) and Christopher (Kris Cady), and grandchildren, Zane, Leila, Sophie, Ramey, Maggie, Joseph W., Stephanie, Brandon and Zachary. She is also survived by sisters, Roberta Esker and Kathleen Faist, and brother, Norbert Widman, as well as many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Geraldine was born in Fremont, Ohio, to parents, Robert and Flavia Widman, both now deceased. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marjorie Rodenhauser and Maryellen Menden. Geraldine was retired after a long career from the Toledo Public Schools. She lived many years in Oregon, Ohio, before moving to Woodville. An avid reader, Geraldine also loved needlework, gardening and playing the piano. She was active in her church and volunteered with Heartbeat of Oregon and sewed linens for lepers. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and friends. Whether it was a cross-country reunion, a visit to the other side of the world or just an afternoon together, a visit with family or friends was her favorite activity. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2017. Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Immediately following the Mass, the family will gather in the parish hall for a light luncheon. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Gibsonburg, Ohio.
