Geraldine Balduf

Geraldine Marie “Gerry” Balduf, 95, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away Sunday, January 7, 2024 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital – Fremont. She was born on June 14, 1928 in Toledo, OH to Herman and Ester V. (Winnie) Ringle. On May 19, 1948, Gerry married Clarence W. Balduf, and he preceded her in death on November 30, 2007. She loved to shop, especially around Christmastime with her family. Taking drives to see Christmas lights with her family is something she always looked forward to. She also looked forward to “No Stress Fridays”, which were times where family would get together and eat perch and walleye and forget about the stressors of the week. Traveling with her family is something that Gerry cherished. She loved to go to Amish Country, East Harbor State Park, and out west to places like Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.

Gerry was primarily a homemaker, though she worked at Erie Army Depot, Standard Products, and Aim Packaging earlier in her life. She enjoyed spending her time volunteering at the Benton-Carroll- Salem Food Pantry, and she was a member of LaPointe United Methodist Church. Gerry was even chosen to be Senior Citizen of the Year for Ottawa County. She always made people laugh and smile wherever she went, but she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind either.

Gerry is survived by her children: Clarence “Buz” (Vicki) Balduf, Charles (Janet) Balduf, and Carol Mossman. Also surviving are grandchildren: Jennifer Balduf, Clarence “Buz” Balduf, Jr., Robert (Alissa) Balduf, Andrew Balduf, Joseph Balduf, Anne (Kevin) Dyer, granddaughter-in-law, Lori Balduf, many great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Iris Long, and grandson, Christopher Balduf.

Funeral services for Gerry will be conducted by Pastor Rob Rakay 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water Street, Oak Harbor, OH with visitation prior from 11:00am-2:00pm. Interment will take place at a later date in Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Township, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Gerry may be given to the B-C-S Food Pantry, Carroll Township EMS, or donations towards funeral expenses can be given to the family, or in care of the funeral home, through the funeral home website www.walkerfuneralhomes.com
