Gerald E. Waganfeald, age 73, of Toledo passed away Thursday May 23, 2013 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born October 18th 1939 to Wilben and Sylvia Spenthoff Waganfeald. He graduated in 1957 from Libbey High School and became a pattern maker by trade. As a pattern maker, Jerry worked at several pattern-making shops, settling in at American Motors Jeep Corporation. He then became a sales representative selling metal cutting tools for manufacturing for the Art Kuhn Company and KenneMetal Co. Jerry retired from KennaMetal in 2005. His favorite job, the job of Poppy, was the most important role he played. He was a member of St. Clements Church. He enjoyed fishing, following the stock market, the Pittsburg Steelers, travel and especially his family. The love and support throughout the years from his family and friends, and the care and support from the Toledo Hospital 8th Floor Oncology Department was greatly appreciated. One of Jerrys most admirable qualities was his determination. He never gave up and encouraged others to do the same. Jerrys sense of humor, generosity and love for life and others will be greatly missed. Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia who died in 1992; brother, James Waganfeald, and sister, Sylvia Sanford. He is survived by his daughters, Vick Bart Schwab and Lisa Jim Roe; son, Robie Waganfeald; grandchildren, Chelsea and Sydney Schwab, Emmy Waganfeald, and Derek Roe; sister, Barbara Kunkel; brother, Bill Waganfeald; sister-in-law, Lynn Waganfeald; and brother-in-law, Pat Sanford, and many special friends. Friends may visit at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue West of Corey on Tuesday, May 28th from 2-8 PM where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will begin Wednesday, May 29th at 9:15 AM at the funeral home, followed by the mass at St. Clements Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd.
