Gerald Lee Velliquette, 74, of Port Clinton, OH died Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, OH. He was born on October 15, 1937 in Fremont, OH to James and Henrietta Floriana Velliquette. He graduated from Lloyd College in Fremont with an associates degree in electrical installation and repair. Gerald worked as a maintenance supervisor for J. Weller and Helle Farms for 25 years, retiring in 1988. Gerald was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton. He was also a member of the Eagles Aerie #712, Fremont, an ABLE board member, and a former Boy Scout leader in Carroll Township. Gerald was an avid fisherman, dancer, and model railroad enthusiast. Gerald is survived by his children: Gerald Tina Velliquette, II of Port Clinton, Donna Rick Key of Taylor, MI, Brian Amy Velliquette of Perrysburg, and Mara Barry Witt of Oak Harbor; 8 grandchildren: Christina Cooper, Mallory Velliquette, Cory Velliquette, Cortney Key, Elise Megan Chaffin, and Heather Madison Witt; 2 great grandchildren; and siblings: James Velliquette, Raymond Velliquette, Judy Velliquette, and Sandy Seaman all of Oak Harbor. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife: Marlene A. Velliquette. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions for Gerald may be directed to the family or a charity of the donors choice.
