Jerry Strasbourg, age 64, passed away at home with his family on Sunday, September 11, 2016. Jerry was born June 14, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Albert E. and Vada Strasbourg. He attended Libbey High School and the University of Toledo. In 1987 he married Sarah M. Wilson, and they raised three children, a daughter Barbara and twin boys Jonathon and Samuel. Sarah passed away in 2011. Jerry was a partner in the former Ohio International Parts on Central Avenue. He retired in 2012 as the manager of the VPD warehouse in Perrysburg Township. Jerry enjoyed fishing and was a long-time member of the Sunnybrook Trout Club in Castalia, Ohio. His regular fish-fries always drew many friends to his home. He was also a connoisseur of fine whiskeys, and enjoyed collecting and trading on eBay. Jerry will be remembered for his incredible generosity, his sense of humor, and for being a great husband, father and true friend to many. Jerry is survived by his children, Mrs. Barbara Urbanski (Aaron), Jon and Sam; two grandchildren, Jack Aaron and Madeleine Sarah; and his brother, John T. “Tom” Strasbourg. Two brothers, Albert and Jay, also preceded him in death. Friends will be received from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (West of Corey Rd.), where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be private. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
