Gerald Romano

Gerald Lawrence Romano, 80, of Toledo, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Ebeid Hospice after a short illness. He was born on July 14, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio to Lawrence and Susanne (Luda) Romano. He married the love of his life, Susan Smalldon and they spent 55 wonderful years together. Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Army. He spent his whole career working in body shops as a spray painter. Gerald loved to bowl and even earned a few awards. He also enjoyed cooking outside and being the Master Griller. The light and joy in his life were his daughters and grandchildren. Gerald is survived by his wife, Susan Romano; daughters, Debbie (Michael) Comes and Becky (Tim) Begin; grandchildren, Jack Comes and Erin Comes, Jake Garber and Kaylee Begin; and siblings, Jeri (Tom) Jardine and Gary (Sandy) Romano, and Patty Romano. He is preceded in death by his mother, Susanne; father, Lawrence and stepmother, Rose. Funeral services will be private. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff on the 7th floor at Toledo Hospital for their exceptional care for “Uncle Jerry” as well as the nursing staff at Ebeid Hospice for their compassion.
