Gerald D. Miller

Gerald Miller, loving father and husband, passed away peacefully in his Toledo home on May 4, 2020 at the age of 69. Born to Richard and Dorothy Miller on April 20, 1951, he was known to his friends as Jerry. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1969. After high school, he spent four years in the Army, stationed in Taipei, Taiwan. He then went on to spend 38 years working at GM Powertrain as a toolmaker in Toledo, Ohio until he retired in 2009. Jerry’s passion was tending his garden, traveling with family, and never turned down the chance to shop for a bargain. He is survived by his beloved wife, Berniece (Hoerig); and their children, Carla (Jeremy) Smith, Geoff (Michelle) Miller, and Jason Knuth (Julie Smith). His nine grandchildren include, Carla, Jeremy Jr., Tyler, Sydnee, Jacob, Andrew, Caitlin, Jacoby and Gabriela. Jerry is also survived by his father, Richard Miller; brother, Leonard (Christine) Miller and sister Donna (Jeff) Kranz. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Miller. The family will have a private viewing prior to cremation, but will hold a Memorial Tribute at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jerry's memory may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
