Gerald Jerry Langschied, age 81 of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on March18, 2013, at Genoa Retirement Village. He was born October 12, 1931, in Toledo to Roy and Muzetta Easterday Langschied. On July 11, 1949, he married Barbara Jean Grove, residing in Walbridge. She preceded him in death in 1992. He worked for Libbey-Owens-Ford for 30 years at the East Broadway and Rossford plants, retiring in 1980. After retirement he painted homes on a part-time basis. He also owned horses, which he used for field trials with pointer dogs. He married Helen Reimer Winchester on December 31, 1992. They moved to Deer Lodge, TN, in 1994 and then relocated back to Ohio Genoa in 2003. Jerry was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Northwood. He is survived by his wife Helen, son Michael Shirley Langschied, daughters Valerie Ivan Lee and Kathie Jeffrey Mashburn, stepsons, Ed and Gary Kelly Reimer, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and brother Robert Bobbie Genie Langschied. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Langschied, and grandson, Dennis Sizemore. A graveside memorial service will take place at a future date. Interment will be in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, Ohio. The family would like to thank the staff of the Genoa Retirement Village and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their care and support.
