Gerald L. Kaufman

Gerald L. Kaufman, 83, of Perrysburg, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, on his 83rd Birthday at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born in Leipsic, OH to Alfred and Cordula (Frank) Kaufman on November 27, 1935. Gerald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After his service, Gerald married Joan A. Vorst on November 4, 1961. He worked as a beverage salesman driver in Lima, Ohio for Shawnee Distributors. Gerald enjoyed being a member of Saint John XXIII in Perrysburg, served on Glandorf City Council for 20 years, was a member of the Glandorf Rod and Gun Club, and the Ottawa Eagles. He enjoyed spending time fishing and watching sports. He loved his family and was a devoted husband and father. He was very proud of his family and their achievements. Gerald is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Philip (Beth) Kaufman, Patricia (Matthew) Rigotti, Karmela Kaufman, Kristine (David) Beeks; grandchildren, Taylor Kaufman, Trenton Kaufman, Joshua Rigotti, Amanda Rigotti, Alexa Rigotti, Andrew Beeks, Ava Beeks; and in-laws, Lorene Kaufman, Terese Kaufman, and James Reaman. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Daniel Kaufman, Robert Kaufman, Cletus Kaufman, Alvin Kaufman, Ambrose Kaufman, Alfred Kaufman, Jr; and sister, Mary Reaman. Friends will be received on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133). A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Saint John XXIII, 24250 N. Dixie Highway, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery.
