Gerald Edmond Fackler

GERALD EDMOND FACKLER Gerald Edmond Fackler, 87, passed away peacefully at Toledo Hospital on March 1, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 13, 1928 to Mark and Estelle Fackler in Toledo, Ohio. He enlisted in the Navy, right out of high school, and gave four years of service. Later he was employed by Conrail Railroad Company where he worked as a Brakeman and Conductor and retired after 37 years. Gerald loved to read and work with his hands. You could often find him carving, building, and helping remodel with his sons. What he loved more than anything was spending time with them and helping them. Gerald was married for 58 wonderful years and will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Carol. Memories of Gerald will also be carried on by their six sons: John (Stephanie) Fackler, David Fackler, Michael (Alesia) Fackler, Timothy (Mary) Fackler, Gregory (Cory) Fackler, Christopher (Sandra) Fackler; grandchildren, Matthew, Sara, Christina, James, Samuel, and Jacob; great grandchildren, Weston and Cali as well as step grandchildren, Jeremy and Abonie. He was preceded in his death by: his grandparents, Charles and Carrie Herrell; his mother and stepfather, Estelle and Henry DuHamell and his twin brother, Gene Fackler.
