Gerald J Dutch Dutridge

Gerald “Dutch” Dutridge, 82, of Toledo, Ohio was called home to be with his wife of 52 years on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Manor of Perrysburg. Dutch was born August 7, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to Alfred S. & Angela R. (Stoeckley) Dutridge. He was married on January 16, 1965 to Jerlyn “Jeri” Rae Buehrer. Dutch attended St. James and then Central Catholic High School. Served in the Army for 2 years as a Sharpshooter. Then worked at Bostwick & Braun, Art Iron, Continental Coffee, Dura and Ottawa Rubber Company. Was a loving husband and father, devoting most of his time and love to his children’s dreams and aspirations, by helping with Cub Scouts Pack 278 and being a Coordinator of the Jones Bears football team. Attended Broadway United Methodist Church where he and his oldest son “Roy” were in the choir. He loved playing softball, dartball with friends at the V.F.W. Hall and bowling with his wife. Through the years, Dutch was able to provide a variety of memorable family vacations. In his later years, he continued to enjoy reading books and solving the daily wonder word puzzle in The Blade. Dutch attended many of his grandkids sporting events and performances. He loved watching them grow up and being part of their lives. He is survived by his sons, Roy (Sandy) Dutridge and Lew (Karyn) Dutridge; grandchildren, Jason (Sara) Villagomez, Jeremy (Kate) Schiel, Ryan Schiel, Monica Vaughn, Ashlee Hobbs, Veronica Dutridge, Anthony Dutridge, Andrew Dutridge and Samantha Dutridge; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Jackson, Mason, Nolan, Xavier, Bud, Gabby, J.J., Leila and Travis. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant son and wife. Friends will be received Friday, September 15, 2017 from 3-8pm at Neville-Shank Funeral Home, 5052 Dorr Street, Toledo, Ohio (419-535-0951), where funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, September 16, 2017.
