Georgia "Gee Gee" Shoup Haines Scheid

Georgia “Gee Gee” Scheid, 87, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025 after an extended illness at Otterbein in Pemberville, OH. 

She was born in Willard, OH on June 25, 1938 to the late Wilbur and Ethel (Dean) Shoup. She graduated from Attica High School in 1956 and attended Bowling Green State University. Georgia spent 27 years working as office manager for Haines Insurance before retiring in 1999. 

Georgia was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Huron where she was active and participated in quilting and working on the Zion Prayer Path. She also attended First Faith Community Church in Sandusky, and Solomon Lutheran Church in Woodville. Gee Gee was a former member of: Kiwanis International in Sandusky and Genoa, the United States Power Squadron and served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. 

She loved living by the lake, boating and time with her family. In later years, she also enjoyed the Cleveland Indians and Toledo Mudhens. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jon M Haines, whom she was married to for 46 years; second husband, G. Pat Scheid; her parents; brother Ronald Shoup, sister Cynthia Shoup, and sister-in-law Barbara Shoup. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Lisa (Jim) Deal of Woodville, Leslie (Vince) Power of Maumee; brother Curt (Becky Nichols) Shoup (Attica); grandchildren: Melissa (Michael Feliz) Reed, Erin (Tony) Vieira, Kyle Reed and Matthew (Jean) Deal; 5 great grandchildren; and 6 Stepchildren. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 3p.m. at Solomon Church, 305 W Main St, in Woodville, OH.
