Georgia May (Hudecek) Balk, age 94, of Oregon, OH, and formerly of Maumee and Toledo passed away on January 2, 2021. Deeply devoted mother of Angela Balk, Mark Balk (and wife Lauren), Lance Balk (and wife Margaret) and Adele Miller (and husband James). Loving grandmother of Adrienne, Allison, Charles (and wife Alysse), Colin, Daniel (and wife Elise), Henry, Lucas, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Thomas, Timothy and Zoe; and great-granddaughter Lily. Georgia attended Mary Manse College (of Toledo) before going to work at The Andersons and then marrying the late Eugene Balk and raising a family; she worked in banking later in life. She also worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the American Red Cross for many years. Georgia was widely admired for her extraordinary warmth, kindness, optimism, determination in the face of adversity, unwavering religious faith and, above all, her complete commitment to her family. She was predeceased by her parents John and Barbara Hudecek and her brother Joseph and sister Agnes, and she remained in close contact with each of her siblings’ families. Funeral services for Georgia will be held virtually only by the Walker Funeral Home & Crematory – Oregon Chapel, 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, 2021.
