Georgia Bea Ardner

January 8, 1944 — October 13, 2021

After a 3 year very courageous battle with cancer and it’s metastasis, Georgia’s circle of life on earth was completed on October 13, 2021 and is now pain free. Georgia was born January 8, 1944 in Toledo to George and Gladys Ardner. She graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and a Master’s degree in education from Oakland University in Michigan. Georgia taught 4th grade for 22 years in Monroe, Michigan schools. Her memberships included the DAR, a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority in Monroe and a lifetime member of Glenwood Lutheran Church. Georgia enjoyed reading and watching classic movies and westerns. As a DAR member, she became interested in ancestry and discovered she was a direct descendent of 3 relatives who arrived on the Mayflower. Many family members and friends have been recipients of Georgia’s artistic talents. She was a jewelry designer working in ultra fine sterling silver pieces with bezel sets of gems. She also crocheted and knitted items over the decades. Prior to her cancer diagnosis she had traveled extensively in the United States, Europe and Canada, and had been on 30 plus cruises. Even though she had been to Alaska 8 times she still wanted 1 more trip. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her beloved sisters Carol, Mary and Pat; and many cousins. A very special thank you to all involved with Georgia’s cancer journey since January 2019 at the Hickman Center on the campus of Flower Hospital. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Monday from 3-7 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at 10 am in Glenwood Lutheran Church 2545 Monroe St. Toledo where a celebration of her life will follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Genacross Lutheran Services Foundation- Family and Youth 2021 N. McCord Rd. Toledo, OH 43615, The Humane Society of Huron Valley PO Box 7026 Ann Arbor, MI 48107 or Shriner’s Childrens’ Hospital 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, FL 33607.
