George Earl Walls

George Junior Earl Walls, 85, of Catawba Island, OH, passed away, Monday, March 23, 2009 at H.B. Magruder Hospital, Port Clinton, OH. He was born on March 3, 1924 in Port Clinton, OH to George Earl and Susan Christiansen Walls, Sr. On July 17, 1975 in Port Clinton, OH he married Coletta Kit Wheeler, and she survives. George was a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II in the Aleutian Islands for 4 years and also in the Sitka and Attu Islands. George was owner and operator of Lake Erie Fisheries and also as a truck driver, retiring at age 75. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Homer D. Gardner Post #2480 of Port Clinton. He also enjoyed gardening and was an animal lover. In addition to his loving wife of 40 years, Coletta, he is survived by: step-son: George Butch Witter of Port Clinton; step-daughter: Brenda Jay BouSliman of Catawba Island; brother: Robert Walls of Port Clinton; sisters: Joanne Mehalic, Linda Makuhan, Mavis Arlene Combs, and Beverly Ann Fletcher; grandchildren: Rachel BouSliman, Kira Jones, James Witter, Georgianna Holmes; and great grandchildren: Sarah Jones, Luka Jones, Tasha Heilaman, Nicole Marvicsin. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Susan K. Clark, and brothers: Roy, Gene Duke, and Donald Potch Walls. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm, Wednesday, March 25, 2009 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Catawba Island Cemetery, Port Clinton with full military graveside honors.
