George A. Neuman, age 77, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at University of Toledo Medical Center. George was born in Toledo on June 14, 1931 to Paul and Mary Jane Barr Neuman. He was employed by Libbey Owens Ford for 38 years as a glass worker retiring in 1989. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, George was a member of the Paragon Lodge #788 F AM, American Legion Post in Whitehouse, VFW Post 3013, and the Scottish Rite. He loved to hunt, fish and golf but spending time with his grandchildren was his greatest passion. George is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Phyllis Sturt Neuman; sons, Dennis Pat, Russell Stacey and Ted Sirri; grandchildren, Douglas, Beth, Alana, Julia, Mark Russell, Brian, Craig and Kevin; sister, Bernice Short; and brother, Paul Neuman, He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Neuman in 2001. Visitation will be on Friday from 2 to 8 pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd. with Masonic Services at 7:30 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to the Paragon Lodge #788 F AM.
