KUEHNL George Edward November 2, 2008 The leaves of our blessed lives fall to the ground and, if were wise, we gather them in a pile and keep them safe lest the winds of forgetfulness blow them away. Before he passed away, Georges father told him that he knew George and his brother, Bob, would continue to excel with the family company, George E. Kuehnl and Sons Construction. After Georges service with the Navy Seabees, he and Bob slowly and steadily built the company up with the same honesty and integrity that their father showed. Never an argument between them, they worked together beautifully with Bob in the field and George in the office. Some years later, George took on two partners who successfully integrated Bellevue Investors into the fold, keeping the construction business as a separate entity. Bellevue is a commercial real estate development company going into its 50th year of operation working throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The company was very successful because of the strong and genuine bond shared by George and his partners. George had a strong work ethic and sense of fairness; those qualities evolved from valuable life lessons he and his partners passed to those they worked with. Bellevue always had their doors open to help those they did business with, through good times and bad. George always brought a sense of calmness to what can be a tumultuous business. He never forgot where he came from, and those who dealt with him were better for it. George was a Christian man who knew that Jesus Christ was his personal savior. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Sarasota, FL, and also a long time member of the Gideon Ministry. He found great joy in making sure that the Bible found its way to the people that needed it. George not only had a rich life, he also enriched others with his humor and love of the simple things he enjoyed, like fishing, hunting, reading, and carving. He loved his family very much - his wife of almost 60 years, Bonna; his daughters, Janet Tom Frobase, Judy Peter Kessler, and son, George III; his grandchildren, Amy Ray Allen, Aaron Sara Frobase, Andrew Christine Frobase, Abigail Jason Wood, Nicholas Kessler, Christina Kessler, Garrett Kuehnl, and Nathan Kuehnl; his great-grandchildren, Ian, Brody, Adaline, Molly, Luke, Sundae, and Brenham; and his sisters, Ruth Roland Lampe and Marie Shantau. His life was full and his passing leaves a large hole in our hearts without him; but, we know we will be together again. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue west of Corey Rd. with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. Rev. David Cooper will be officiating. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Ministry or to the Cherry Street Mission.
