George Charles Joseph

George C. Joseph passed away Saturday January 2, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. The son of Charles Sadie (Shaheen) Joseph, he was born March 8, 1931 in Detroit, MI. He was a graduate of Timken High School in Canton, OH and attended the University of Toledo. He served his country in the USAF in the 53rd Medical Unit during the Korean War. George married Mary Lou Abdo on October 9, 1955. He was an entrepreneur, most recently owning Travels by George. He was a member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral and St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church, American Legion, Masonic Fort Industry Lodge and The Zenobia Shrine. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary of over 60 years; sister Leila Joseph-Andrews; daughters Abby (Earl) Wackenheim, Anita Joseph, Charla (Don) Akerman, Cathy (Steve) Ebejer; grandchildren, Christina (Matt), Joe, Erin, Leigh, Mike. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph. Friends may visit the family at St. George Orthodox Cathedral 3754 Woodley Rd. Toledo, OH 43606 on Wednesday from 3-8 pm with Trisagion prayers at 7 pm. Visitation on Thursday at 10 am at St. George with the funeral service at 11 am followed by interment at Toledo Memorial Park.
