George A. Floro, 76, of Williston, died early Monday morning, July 1, 2013, at the Luther Home of Mercy, Williston, Ohio, where he had been a resident since 1984. George was born August 26, 1936, in Genoa, Ohio to Dewey and Luella Burkett Floro. When he was younger, he had attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Martin, Ohio, and had worked at Riverview Industries in Oak Harbor after going to live at the Luther Home of Mercy. George enjoyed sports-the Dallas Cowboys, the Ohio State Buckeyes-and attended the Toledo Mud Hens baseball games. He will be missed by his Luther Home of Mercy family. George is survived by his sister-in-law, Florence Dutch Floro of Genoa and nieces and nephews. His parents and brothers, Robert Roberta and Donald Floro, preceded him in death, as well as his nephews, Mike and Noel Floro and special friend, Roxanne. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St., Genoa, and 8:30-10 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the Luther Home of Mercy Chapel, 5810 N. Main St., Williston, prior to the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Memorials for George may be given to the Luther Home of Mercy, 5810 N. Main St., P.O. Box 187, Williston, OH 43468.
