George R. Ehrenfried, 85, of Rossford, Ohio passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 9, 1936 to Robert J. and Eva E. (Roe) Ehrenfried. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1954 and worked for the Postal Service for over 40 years. George married Dorothy A. Eckel in 1981, this December would have been their 40th wedding anniversary. George enjoyed playing softball, bowling and golf. He was a sports enthusiast, Toledo Mud Hens, Detroit Tigers, Toledo Walleye and rarely missed an important game on TV. He loved his community and spending time having coffee with his friends discussing Local and National issues. He also was known to enjoy an occasional burger and beer at Moe’s Place. He was very loved and well known throughout Rossford and South Toledo. Above all, his greatest joy was his children and grandchildren, attending family sporting events and especially every Sunday spending time together. George is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Ehrenfried; son, Mark D. (Lisa) Ehrenfried; daughter, Dianna (Kipp) Van Tassel; stepchildren, Garry (Sue) Hager, Terry Hager, Tony (Kim) Hager, Laura (Chris) Murphy, and John (Deanne) Oberle; grandchildren, Jala and Ty Ehrenfried, Levi and Nina Van Tassel; nieces, nephew and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Elaine (Ehrenfried) Sahadi. Funeral services for George will be private. He will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
