George Edward Collins

George passed away quietly at his home on May 30, 2018 with family present. He was born in Toledo on October 21, 1932. George is the son of Evangeline Miller (Kellys Island) and Willam P. Collins (Toledo). He was educated at Cathedral School, Central Catholic and Scott High School. He graduated from University of Toledo with high honors in 1956 and was a charter member of Beta Gamma Sigma honors fraternity. George served in the army ROTC and was married to Ginny Ormston in 1956. His first employment was with Libby Glass both in Toledo and California where he worked for over 20 years. Following that, he worked for Bienenfeld Glass and subsequently in Toledo for Marck & Associates, until he retired at 74 years of age. George enjoyed the outdoors, was a runner, an award winning photographer and an avid car enthusiast. George is survived by his wife, two sons (Hugh and John), three grandchildren (Scott Collins, Julie Walker and Nicole Collins) and one great grandchild (Michael Anthony Walker). Friends and family will be received at Walker Funeral Home on Tuesday June 5th from 4-6 with a service there immediately following. The family asks that a donation in his memory be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in lieu of flowers. Condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.ocm
