George John Christopher

November 13, 1932 — August 3, 2016

George J. Christopher of Sylvania and formerly of Ludington, MI, passed peacefully At Hospice of Northwest Ohio on August 3, 2016 at the age of 83. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was wed to his beloved Rosemary for 55 years, who preceded him in death in 2010. He was an active 33rd degree Mason and was Past Master of Harbor Light Lodge in Toledo and Pere Marguette Lodge in Ludington. George was a Past Commander in Chief of the Toledo Consistory of the Scottish Rite and a Past Grand Tyler of the Grand Lodge of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Meyers. Surviving are his daughter, Kim Bushong of Waterford, PA and son, Walter L. (Carrie) Christopher of Sylvania. He is also survived by his grandsons Ben (Kari), Alex ( Sarah) Bushong, Matthew Nagel; and great grandson Daniel Bushong. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Ludington. George was a well respected man throughout his entire life and believed that taking the time to put others ahead of yourself was the key to a happy life. Donations will be welcome to the American Cancer Society, the A.S.P.C.A. and al Masonic charities. Arrangements by Walker Funeral Home 419-841-2422.
