George L. Campbell, Jr.

George L. Campbell, Jr., 78, the son of George L. and Mary H. (Phillips) Campbell, Sr., passed away on September 30, 2021, at the Luther Home of Mercy in Williston Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio and spent the first 53 years of his life in Maumee, Ohio George was a well-loved figure in the city of Maumee for many years. Residents will remember him as the friendly face who traveled all over town. He loved people and never met a stranger. The Mayor of Maumee named August 20, 1994 as "George Campbell Day". He was an avid Penn State fan who took pride in conversing to all about his favorite team. He moved to the Luther Home of Mercy on May 4, 1994, and made many friends at his new home....many of whom became like family. George is survived by his loving family, sister, Linda (Michael) Gill, nieces, Jacqueline (Dan) Kinsinger, Jennifer (Joe) Daleiden and Julie Gill, great niece, Ella Daleiden and great nephew, Alex Daleiden. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service for George will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Luther Home of Mercy Chapel, 5810 N. Main St., PO Box 187, Williston, Ohio. Burial will take place next to his parents at the Weston Cemetery, Weston, Ohio. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
