George F. Bice

George F. Bice, 96, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, OH. He was born on July 07, 1912 in Port Clinton, OH, the son of Oscar and Jennie Carstens Bice. On April 24, 1947, in Auburn, Indiana, he married Georgia L. Moore and she preceded him in death on November 12, 2001. George worked as a plumber at Camp Perry, retiring in 1979. He also was a farmer for many years. George was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH and was a trustee for Erie Township for 16 years. George was also a founding member of the Erie Township Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Georges family and his work meant everything to him. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include: Son: Jack W. Nancy Patterson of Hillsdale, MI; Daughter: Susan Denny Stein of Marble, PA; Son: Fred Sue Bice of Port Clinton, OH; Daughter: Louise Dan Toris of Port Clinton, OH; Grandchildren: Cherese, Lonna, Eric, Heather, Lisa, Mark, Freddie, Amy, Elizabeth Erin: Great-Grandchildren: Rachel, Anna, Garrett, Serena, Kiersten, Seth Jr., Trevor, Rachel Evangeline. George was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Elizabeth, Oscar, Clara and Sophia, infant brother: William and infant sister: Lois. Visitation will be 2-8PM, Friday, January30, 2009 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend James Lehman at 10:30AM, Saturday, January 31, 2009 in St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions in Georges memory be given to the Erie Twp. Vol. Fire Dept. and St. John Lutheran Church.
