Geneva G. Yarad

Geneva Gay Yarad, of Northwood, OH, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, October 31, 2020, while surrounded by her beloved family and Fr. Michael Shaheen. Geneva was born in Slab Fork, WV to Esaw Paul and Lilly Augusta Cook, along with either other siblings. She later moved to Toledo, OH to share her life with her husband for 58 years. Geneva will be forever missed by everyone that had the blessing of knowing her. She leaves behind her "Best Buddy" and husband, John Yarad; her beloved children, Lisa (John) Sekela, Rebecca (Rob) Turski, John (Amy) Yarad, Amanda (Nikki) Yarad; grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Payden, Courtney (Kurt) Sabo, Mara Payden, Lauryn Yarad, Devon (Carly) Turski, Alex Yarad, Joseph Yarad; great-grandchildren, Katie Sabo, Luke Payden, Gavin Sabo; and her grand dogs; Siblings, Katherine (Harold) Plumley, David (LaRonda) Cook, Eddie (Annette ) Cook; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; six siblings; and many beloved family members. Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 3754 Woodley Avenue, Toledo 43606, until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., where social distancing and masks are required. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral.
