Gaylord Toby Tice, 78, of Oak Harbor, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Toby was born in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Frank L. and Opal E. Humphrey Tice. He was a 1954 graduate of Salem-Oak Harbor High School. On January 24, 1957, in Rocky Ridge, Ohio, he married Beverly A. Lickert and she survives. For 41 years Toby worked at CSX Transportation. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor; a member of the Oak Harbor Masonic Lodge No. 495 F. & A.M. and the Ottawa County Shrine Club. Tobys hobbies included farming, gardening, hunting, fishing, golfing, card playing, and RV traveling. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren throughout the years and also the company of his black Labrador, Sadie. In addition to his wife, Beverly, Toby is survived by his children, Cheryl Lynn Dave Hoste, Randall Mark Tice, Bruce Charles Teresa Tice and Lorne Paul Tonia Tice; grandchildren, Tyson Hoste, Troy Hoste, Tessa Hoste, Heather Thomas Mohlman, Erin Tice, Kathryn Tice, Emily Tice, Katelyn Tice and Brooke Tice; and great grandchildren, Taelynn Hoste, Jackson Mohlman and Jonah Mohlman. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Mildred Tice. Tobys final wishes will be honored with a private graveside service at a later date at Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor. The family has asked that memorials for Toby be directed to the Oak Harbor Masonic Lodge, 12819 W. St. Rt. 105, Oak Harbor OH 43449; St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 122 W. Ottawa St., Oak Harbor, OH 43449; or Hospice of Memorial Hospital, 430 S. Main St., Clyde, OH 43410. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Oak Harbor has assisted the family with arrangements.
