Gayle L. Mitchell

Gayle L. Mitchell, age 69, of Toledo, died peacefully on Sunday morning, April 26, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania.  A native Canadian, she was born January 24, 1946 to the late Gilbert and Elsie (Morley) Luce.  A 1964 graduate of Whitmer High School, Gayle was employed as a bookkeeper for many years at Skillcraft and more recently worked as monitor for Sylvania City Schools.  In her free time, she enjoyed working in her flower garden, fishing, bowling and visiting the casino.  Gayle was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be lovingly remembered for her giving and selfless nature. She is survived by her husband, Gary Buzz Mitchell; children, Tracy (Ken) Klaft, Brian (Janna) Homer, Brint (Nancy) Mitchell, Brian (Meghan) Mitchell and Brad (Sulema) Mitchell; and eighteen grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Randy Luce. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Thursday in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2015.  Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
