Gary E. Wolf, 78, of Fremont, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Stein Hospice in Sandusky. Gary was born to the late William S. and Thelma E. (Bebow) Wolf on March 3, 1938, in Port Clinton, Ohio. On August 1, 1959, in Oak Harbor, Ohio, he married Judith Genzman and she survives. Gary served in the U.S. Army from 1961-63 first in Ft. Knox, KY, and then he went on to serve in Korea. Gary worked as a self-employed construction contractor for 27 years and was the Ottawa County Building Inspector from 1984 until he retired in 2006. He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor and enjoyed the outdoors, his yard and his dog, Spike. In addition to his loving wife of over 56 years Judy, Gary is survived by his brother, Dennis (Pam) Wolf of Oak Harbor, nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents and nephew preceded him in death. Visitation will be 9-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor, where the funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cheryl Wessel officiating. Burial will take place in Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor, with military services conducted by the American Legion and VFW of Oak Harbor. Memorials for Gary may be directed to the Ottawa Co.
