Gary A. Tipton

Gary Allen Tipton, 64, of Perrysburg, entered the presence of his Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Gary was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 21, 1947, to Alva W. and Marian M. French Tipton. Gary was blessed to lead a full life. He was a graduate of Bowsher High School and the University of Toledo. From 1970-1976, Gary served in the Ohio National Guard and received an honorable discharge. Gainfully employed for many years with the White Automotive group in various capacities, Gary was General Manager of Jim White Toyota and Lexus of Toledo, and was instrumental in bringing the Lexus dealership to Northwest Ohio. At a young age, Gary committed his life to Jesus and rededicated his life as a young father. A long-time member of Christian and Missionary Alliance churches, Gary enjoyed serving as deacon. Golden Retrievers have been a large part of life, as Gary and his wife, Crys enjoyed being hobby breeders as Tiptop Goldens, and competed in dog shows, traveling the United States as members of the Golden Retriever Club of Toledo and the Golden Retriever Club of America. He planned to be a judge and took the preliminary steps by judging in sweepstakes. Gary is survived by his loving wife Crystal Signs; son Eric Danielle Tipton of Toledo; daughter, Sara Andy Nist of Carmel, IN; grandchildren Hannah, Micah and Eva Nist and Kellen and soon-to-be Hadley Tipton; sister, Deborah Marvin Zimmerman of Perrysburg; brother, Todd Tipton of Minnesota and father-in-law, Jack Signs. He was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may call at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 am at First Alliance Church, 2201 Monroe Street, Toledo, OH. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
