Gary N. Paulsen, of Holland, OH, passed away on July 8, 2024 at St. Vincent Medical Center - Toledo at the age of 64. He was born in Tiffin, OH on March 6, 1960, the third child of Josephine Podgurski Paulsen and Archie N. Paulsen.
To those who didn’t know Gary, he was the friend you hadn’t met yet, and to those who knew him, he was a consistent servant to others, his church, and his community. He was a loving brother, father, and grandfather (known as “Ace”). His happiest moments were spent with his family. Gary was an avid volunteer and active in his children’s school, sports, and church youth group activities. He will be remembered by his kindness and selflessness.
Gary graduated from Whitmer High School in 1978 and received his Associate’s Degree of Computer Programming and later his Bachelor’s in Business Services at the University of Toledo, where he met his wife. On September 14, 1985, he married Julie Keeler and together they built a family of four children.
His professional career began at SSOE Group. He later joined Interlink Technologies Inc. as a project manager for 35 years where he developed long-lasting, close relationships with both his co-workers and clients.
Gary is survived by his wife, Julie; his children, Sara Paulsen (James Tomlinson), Andrew Paulsen, Elizabeth “Betsy” Paulsen, and Emily Paulsen; his granddaughter, Emma Tomlinson; his sisters, Nancy Cebula and Donna Watts; and his nieces and nephews Nicole (Alexander) Bowling, Nathan (Valerie) Cebula, Amanda Kohntopp and Joshua Kohntopp; and great nieces and nephews Ansley, Everett, and Jeremiah. He is predeceased by his parents, Josephine Podgurski Paulsen and Archie N. Paulsen.
Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave (at Corey Road) Friday July 12th from 3-7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday July 13th at Faith United Lutheran Church, 4543 Douglas Rd. (at Castleton Ave). Burial will follow at Wakeman Cemetery in Waterville.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Faith United Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church - Toledo or a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to thank the St. Vincent Medical Center ICU doctors, nurses, and staff for the kindness and compassion shown to them and Gary.
