GARY K. LUDWIG Gary K. Ludwig, 73, of Perrysburg, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016. He was born in Toledo to Kenneth U. and Irene E. (Hohenstein) Ludwig on July 22, 1943. Gary attended St. Francis De Sales High School and completed his Undergraduate Degree at The University of Toledo, where he was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant from the ROTC program. Gary married Linda P. Justen and this past September celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. They enjoyed traveling, especially the pilgrimages to Italy and France. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Gary worked as a Certified Public Accountant for over 40 years including Ernst & Ernst, Toledo Concrete Pipe Company, and Detroit Stoker Company. Later in his career, Gary pursued a life-long dream of attending The University of Notre Dame where he proudly earned an M.B.A. Gary enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie with his grandfather, father and, in later years, his son. He enjoyed the challenge of playing golf and even achieved two holes-in-one. His love of Notre Dame, especially football, began at a very young age when his father took him to his first Notre Dame game. The tradition of attending games together continued for many years. Gary cherished his time with his family. Becoming a grandfather (Papa) was one of his greatest joys. He was very proud of his three beautiful granddaughters and enjoyed being a part of their lives. He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Karen M. Ludwig, Greg C. (Heather) Ludwig; grandchildren, Libby Ludwig, and twins, Kate and Paige Ludwig; sisters, Judy (Jim) Warntz, and Cindy (Jeff) Baumeister. He was preceded in death by his parents.
