Gary L. Lauman

LAUMAN Gary Lee, age 64, lost his long-time battle with illness and passed away Monday, September 14, 2020, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, OH. Gary was born November 28, 1955, in Toledo, OH, to Kenneth and Eleanor (Burns) Lauman. He lived most of his life in a house his grandfather built on Melvin Drive in Toledo. A graduate of Rogers High School, Gary spent many years at Balduf Bakery and later worked at Dominic’s and Red Lobster. He will be forever remembered by relatives and friends for his fun-loving, kind and generous nature. One phrase that everyone will remember whenever Gary suggested going out somewhere was, “I’ll buy!”. Gary loved comic books and amassed quite a large collection. He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time fishing with uncles and cousins and camping with his family. Gary had a talent for drawing and was also an exceptional chess player, golfer, bowler and a regular in local Putt-Putt tournaments. Gary was always there to help if you needed a shoulder to cry on, a ride somewhere or were just hungry for a milkshake. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenny. A devoted son, nephew and family member, Gary will be missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00am until the funeral service at 12:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. Toledo, OH 43623. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
