The world lost a great man on Tuesday January 11, 2012 when Gary J. King passed away very suddenly at Toledo Hospital. He was born on December 8, 1947 to Allen and Hannah King. Gary attended St. Vincent de Paul grade school. He then went on to graduate from Woodward High School in 1965. He worked at AP Auto Parts, working to achieve the rank of foreman and attending Davis Business College at night. In 1969 Gary enlisted in the United States Army. He was accepted to Officer Candidate School earning him the rank of first lieutenant leading his troops through Vietnam. Gary was a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He contracted malaria sending him back to the states to recuperate. After receiving an honorable discharge, Gary went back to work at AP Parts for a short time before he entered the wonderful world of used car sales. Gary worked at many area dealers, meeting many lifelong friends. In 1984 , Gary met the love of his life, Robin G. Denman Cox They married September 19, 1986. Gary eventually became the Used Car Manager at Ralph Thayer in Monroe, Mi for 4 years. Gary retired from Quality Ford in Maumee, OH in 1996 due to health issues. Gary assumed the role of house husband and took over all the household chores and running their daughter all around for all of her activities. Garys favorite pastimes were perfecting his golf game, playing on a league at Fallen Timbers Fairways Golf Course. He enjoyed and entertained all of his friends on his Wednesday night league. Gary and his wife, Robin recently bought their dream house on a lake in Holland, OH. They enjoyed last summer settling in and riding around the lake on their pontoon boat enjoying the sun and peace and quiet. Gary just purchased a new toy, a bright red Mercedes convertible! He was looking forward to cruising with the top down, just enjoying life! Gary is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Robin G. King, as well as his Daughter Lani Denman Bidlack, Son-in-Law, Lane Bidlack, brother, Donald Sue King of Toledo, sister, Marian Greg Baidel of Chittenango, NY., as well as many nieces and nephews. Gary had a very special group of friends his peeps, that he hung with, played golf with, worked with and genuinely enjoyed! There will be a celebration of Garys life Saturday January 21st at Fallen Timbers Fairways Golf Course 7711 Timbers Boulevard Waterville, OH 43566.
