GARY L. KARNES Gary L. Karnes, 76, of Perrysburg passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. He was born February 26, 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Henry and Ruth (Brossia) Karnes. He dated Mary (Curtis) Hall for 12 years and then they married on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 1999; sharing 33 years together. Gary was a tool and die maker for Glassline Corporation for several years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan and loved listening to classic rock music, especially Pink Floyd. He was a volunteer fireman in Waterville. As a fireman he helped put on the Waterville Festival for many years, helping with the Fireman's footlong hotdog trailer. He camped at Twin Acres Campground with Mary for 17 years, where he was the king of the campground ground and very well loved. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, HazeAnne (John) Tansel and Jeremy Karnes; stepdaughter, Michelle Curtis; grandson, Devin Holloway; step-grandsons, Sage Tansel and Sawyer Tansel and brother, Larry (Vicki) Karnes. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 2-6 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) with a funeral service beginning at 6 P.M. Burial will be private. Donations may be made in Gary’s name to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, The American Heart Association and The American Lung Association.
