Gary Richard Francis

Gary Richard Francis, 75, of Monclova, Ohio, passed away December 11, 2016 in Laguna Hills, California. Gary was born in Toledo, Ohio to Albert and Virginia (Southard) Francis. He graduated from Macomber High School in Toledo. Gary married Darla (Baxter) on February 26, 1966, and she preceded him in death on March 17, 2016. Gary proudly served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. After his service, he was an electrician through IBEW Local 8, and retired from Huron Electric after several years of being a journeyman. He was a perfectionist in his trade and was looked up to by many electricians that apprenticed with him. Gary was a member of the VFW Post #3013 in Holland, a member of the American Legion Post #384 in Whitehouse and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Post #2322 of Rossford. He was an amazing teacher, friend, brother, uncle, and father with a sharp wit, a strong work ethic, and a loving heart. He will be missed by all. Gary is survived by: children Kim Francis, Gary (Teri) Francis, Ed (Carrie) Francis, Michelle Sullivan; grandchildren Zachary, Jacob, Grisha, Nathan, Nicholas, Matthew Francis, Zoey and Regan Sullivan; great-granddaughter Nova and sister, Linda (Jim) Gutting. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Darla J. Francis; his sister Suzanne Litten and brother-in-law George Litten. Friends will be received on Saturday, December 17, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Neville Funeral Home, Reynolds Corner Chapel, 5052 Dorr Street, Toledo, Ohio 43615 (419-535-0951) where the Eagles Post #2322 and American Legion Post #384 will perform services starting at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
